b. ate vegan food at the Loving Hut, a vegan cafe that promises it is a "an accessible starting point for those making the noble transition to a plant-based diet". I remain an omnivore, but the lemon-grass soy was very good.

c. took pictures of house finches, a red-bellied woodpecker, mallard ducks and eastern bluebirds at Breckinridge Park, and a scissortail flycatcher at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.

d. ate quiche at Mimi's cafe chain restaurant.
